During the production of Alan Wake 2 I was a level owner for the town of Watery, the neighboring town to Bright Falls. It was founded by Finnish immigrants in the 1800s, centered largely on the area's booming fishing and lodging industries. Compared to Bright Falls, Watery appears even smaller, rougher, more run-down. There are old, empty warehouses that used to serve both the fishing and logging industries, and crooked piers with only a couple of boats.
My main responsibilities were to conceptualize and design the different locations in the town, mentoring and tasking other artist within/joining the level, preparing 2D & 3D outsourcing briefs as well as making 3D models & level art/set dressing and communicating to other crafts the level needs.
A lot of these locations were brought to final quality thanks to the work of these amazing artists :
Environment Art : Maikki, Abbie, Samuli, Mikael, Jose & Sergei.
Lighting : Damian & George.
Concept art : Jenna, Markus & Juhani.
Art Direction : Janne
